How we work together

We hold regular regulatory updates as well as face to face engagement with local community members on our operations, financial performance, and rural development where and when possible.

Key expectations

Despite on-going travel and logistical challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued to build and maintain meaningful relationships with the communities surrounding our operations through remote business continuity.

Our focus

We will continue to maintain our deep support for our host communities through prudent management of our business, diligent analysis of sustainable growth opportunities and ongoing two-way dialogue.

How we work together

We are currently the only onshore domestic gas licence in Tanzania with Tanzania’s energy aggregator, The Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC), as a joint venture partner. This collaboration means we hold regular technical and operating committee meetings to align our activities and shared ambitions to add valuable input into technical and operational joint venture discussions.

Key expectations

We have long-standing and trusting relationships with all government stakeholders including the Minster of Energy and upstream regulator, PURA. We look to maintain these vital relationships through close collaboration, openness, and transparency.

Our focus

With the support of our local talent and team, we can ensure that regular and relevant dialogue is maintained with our in-country stakeholders and government partners, even against the backdrop of logistical challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

How we work together

As a non-operator joint venture partner, we work alongside our operator, Maurel & Prom, to add valuable and input into technical and operational joint venture discussions. It is important to us that we collaborate and provide input through formal committee meetings and regular informal meetings and dialogue throughout the year both in-country and through our headquarters.

Key expectations

We work closely and effectively with our Mnazi Bay joint venture partners to meet key expectations of us. We work together to ensure that future work programmes are discussed and agreed to achieve the right outcome for our asset.

Our focus

During 2021, we expect to proceed with additional development plans to optimise the Mnazi Bay field with our partners. A key area of focus will be the preliminary front end engineering and design (FEED) study for future compression, which is anticipated to be required in 2023-24.

How we work together

Our people are our most important asset and drive our continued success. We are proud to support and develop local talent. Through our open, flat, and approachable culture, we encourage open dialogue to help our people thrive. We achieve this through clear access to management, an open and welcoming environment, and regular updates through clear lines of communication.

Key expectations

We are fortunate to have a long-serving and loyal team, many of whom are familiar with remote working crossing several time zones. The global challenges faced since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic have highlighted the importance of flexible and responsible remote working, which we have committed to putting in place to keep our people, safe, secure, and able to continue working.

Our focus

Our key focus for 2021 is to continue to shape our talent, particularly our local employees in our Dar es Salaam office to ensure equal and fair opportunities are available to all.

Shareholders & investors

How we work together

We provide transparent, honest, and open communication on our operational and financial performance as well as our growth strategy, to keep our investors well informed. We engage with our shareholders primarily through our regulatory news-flow, our coordinated results roadshows, our annual general meeting as well as media and public relations efforts during the calendar year.

Key expectations

Our goal is to deliver accessible and responsive shareholder and investor engagement. Our expectation is to successfully communicate with shareholders via a broad range of investor relations efforts and communication channels.

Our focus

Considering COVID-19 and the associated restrictions in place, we will host an interactive and inclusive virtual AGM in 2021. Given many of our shareholders are located around the world, particularly our loyal retail shareholder base in Norway, we believe that this global approach will be beneficial to all shareholders.
